~Specialty Coffee Gift Release Commemorative Collaboration Event~

To commemorate the release of "Kyoto Ogawa Coffee Specialty Drip Coffee Gift OCQH," we will be holding a collaborative event with Kyoto calligrapher Niimi Tomofumi, who designed the calligraphy on the packaging, "Calligraphy and Coffee: Niimi Tomofumi Calligraphy Exhibition JAPAN CALLIGRAPHY ART" from Tuesday, July 16th to Sunday, July 28th, 2024, at the gallery space on the second floor of Ogawa Coffee Sakaimachi Nishiki store.
At Ogawa Coffee, we began making coffee in 1952 in Kyoto, a city that thrives on tradition and an enterprising spirit.
Since then, supported by the aesthetic sense and sensibilities of Kyoto that have been cultivated over many years, we have honed our aesthetic sense and skills with pride as "Kyoto coffee artisans," in our relentless pursuit of the "authentic" taste that can be enjoyed around the world.
This event is designed to help you enjoy coffee gifts that are particular not only about the taste of the coffee but also about the way it is presented. We will be exhibiting large, boldly drawn works by Niimi and introducing the thoughts that went into the packaging design. Niimi will also be holding a workshop where you can enjoy calligraphy and coffee. In addition, we will be offering tastings of "specialty coffee," which has an especially wonderful flavor among coffee beans, and selling products exclusive to the event. Please enjoy the experience of thinking about "calligraphy" while sipping coffee.

"Niimi Tomofumi Live Painting"
Niimi will be doing a live painting in the gallery space on the second floor of the Sakaimachi Nishiki store. The theme is "A store that will continue for 100 years," which is the concept of Ogawa Coffee Sakaimachi Nishiki store. On the day, the live broadcast will be on the Sakaimachi Nishiki store's official Instagram, and later on the Ogawa Coffee official YouTube channel.

"Beautiful handwriting class: Calligraphy made with coffee"
You can learn how to write beautiful characters at the Beautiful Letters Class. The ink used is made from coffee liquid extracted from coffee beans that would otherwise be discarded during the manufacturing process. In addition to calligraphy, you can enjoy the aroma of coffee and an ethical experience.
