Grounds for Health

Donation to Grounds for Health

Grounds for Health, a US non-profit organization, works primarily in Ethiopia and Kenya, with the assistance of local medical facility staff to promote women's health in coffee-producing countries, particularly with the aim of early detection and treatment of cervical cancer.

Ogawa Coffee places importance on the quality of the raw material, coffee beans, in order to always deliver delicious coffee. To do this, high-quality coffee beans are essential. However, coffee-producing countries, where the beans are grown, face various problems, including economic disparity. Approximately 125 million people around the world are involved in coffee production, and 70% of them are women. In light of this situation, Ogawa Coffee is also focusing on support activities for producing countries, with the desire to protect the lives of producers and contribute to stable coffee production.

One of these is support for the American non-profit organization Grounds for Health . Grounds for Health is an organization that works mainly in Ethiopia and Kenya, with the help of local medical institution staff, to promote the health of women in coffee-producing countries, particularly the early detection and treatment of cervical cancer. Specifically, in addition to conducting cervical cancer screening campaigns in coffee-producing countries, they also focus on educating local medical workers so that they can continue their activities by transferring knowledge and training to local staff.

Ogawa Coffee supports this initiative and has been supporting it since 2009. It will donate a portion of the sales of eligible products, including decaffeinated coffee, to Grounds for Health's support activities.
